  • Family with children
    6.2

Great location in close proximity to Courtney Place and the city.

Very dated facilities and appearance, and in need of some maintenance. Car parking was very tight, and we were lucky to get a park at all!

  • Couple
    9.2

Excellent friendly staff. Car parking and excellent location. Room was clean.

Stayed in queen room in the lodge. Only thing was noise from hall way when other guests came through talking or coughing etc during the night. The doors do not completely seal the room off (large gap under door) so doesn't feel private.

  • Older travelers

Very friendly staff. Good parking. Very central for city. Comfortable and reasonably quiet rooms considering city location.

  • Older travelers

Location, location, location - truly a 5 minue walk to the heart of the city

Heart of the city = street noise at times, not too intrusive, just there in the background

  • Older travelers
    2.4

    The laundry facility

The number of youths running about and planing ball amongst the cars. It was more like an immigrant camp than a hotel. I am surprised you have it on you list!!!!!! It was horrible. Not a hotel worth your inclusion !!!!!

  • Older travelers

Proximity to city, theatres, shopping, cages etc. comfortable beds, clean no frills accommodation.

The location suited us and the villa had charm and character that we've not experience before and to have it in this city location in excellent repair was wonderfull

The $40 parking ticket I got. The Halswell business does not provide specfic parking and since the hotel complex was full and we arrived back very late one night we had no option but to park on the joining empty street. Wellington Council jumped at the chance at 5:30am Sunday morning to add to their greedy coffers. Might as well have been in Auckland with that type of nazi behaviour :-)

  • Couple

Phone mannerism of the staff was very good, pleasant and accommodating.

We requested car parking yet received none, so had to hunt for suitable parking at 11.30pm when we arrived which wasn't easy to find. Photos on Booked.net were not representative of what we got.

Central. Easy access to restaurants and shops. Free parking, and able to leave car there after check out for an hour or two.

We liked the friendly and informative reception staff, and the location for attending St James theatre was exellent.

The twin room and en suite was very small.

  • Couple

Good location meet city center. Car park available.

    Room needs to be modernized.

  • Single
    8.2

The central location in Wellington for less than $100 per night. Walking distance to seafront, Te Papa, Cuba Street.

STarting to show it's age and looking tired.

  • Group of friends
    10.0

The main draw to staying at the Halswell lodge was the location. The room was small but comfortable and very close to the shopping/bar district which is what my friend and I were there for. Nice staff, friendly atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a affordable place to stay while exploring the night-life of Wellington!

  • Older travelers
    7.0

Convenient to city shops restaurants and attractions. Few doors from embassy theatre.

room a bit pokey and decor dated

  • Single
    4.6

    Handy to city.

Hard beds, small room, very noisy plumbing, very thin walls, parking very small spaces - had to park in the street. Backpackers level of accommodation.
